Why We Built InTandem Talent
I didn't set out to start a recruiting company.
I spent nearly two decades working inside organizations, from large enterprise companies to high-growth startups, helping them build teams and hire the people who would define their next chapter. I saw what great recruiting could look like when it was done with care and intention. And I saw, far more often, what happened when it was driven by commission, false urgency, and unclear objectives.
The same pattern kept repeating. Leadership frustrated with processes that pushed candidates through before understanding the business need and long term goals. Hires that looked right on paper but didn't fit the culture. Searches that restarted because the needs weren’t clear from the beginning.
I kept thinking: it doesn't have to be this way.
The problem isn't a lack of talent. There are extraordinary people in the market at every level and function. The problem is the model. Commission-based recruiting creates an incentive to fill roles fast, not for the right fit. And the companies that pay the highest price for that misalignment are the ones that can least afford it: growing companies where every hire has an outsized impact on culture, momentum, and outcome.
I built InTandem Talent to be different. An embedded approach that puts us inside the team, not at arm's length. A commitment to honesty. The kind that tells you when a role is mis-scoped, when your compensation is off-market, and when you're moving too fast.
The name came from the idea of two entities moving together…neither leading nor following. That's the kind of partnership I wanted to build. Not a vendor relationship. Not a transactional one. A genuine collaboration where the recruiter's success is tied to the client's.
We're just getting started. But the model is clear. And I'm proud of what we've built so far.
